Ketaki, gulaab, juhi...

Shivaratri has come and gone, and like my Bapa used to say, the cold has retreated on a 'siva, siva!' I'm being fanciful but the cold was distinctly backfooted this morning. Spring-Summer smells are rising, summer light has started to stream in, the bulbuls are pichkuing with renewed vigour. Much as I enjoy winters, I'm feeling very cheered by the strengthening sun.

yes yes, the forests have been flaming for a while now, and the leaves have been shed (and swept up by the neighbours and burnt to a crisp). i can deal with this until holi. after that i will try not to complain until april.

shedding leaves - yes, we have TWO ashokas and when we step out it is like rain almost.
*grin* so that is how you tolerate the seasons - taken in small chunks, from festival to festival.
