On the remake

Why is everyone intent on revisiting older classics? Umrao Jaan, Don, Sholay - ah well, at least it gives the news channels something to do. Half hour specials every day. One yesterday that compared frame by frame Helen's Yeh mera dil pyar ka deewana number with the new one by Kareena Kapoor. With running commentary.
SRK everywhere (not complaining - he sounds decent).

Caught a bit of the big hoopla over Umrao Jaan. The promos look pretty but that's all. What I'm lusting after is not Ash or even Abhishek, but that gorgeous turquoise he's wearing. Beaut. muah.
Is it just me or are they very very thanda?

Really, of all the movies to pick Umrao Jaan! And Aishwarya Rai to do Rekha. What were they thinking? At least Don is a fast paced action flick (from the looks of it) and will still be an ok watch but to take the role that can never be anybody's but Rekha's... really, the only reason people would watch it is to see her massacre the role

:-) True, true - Oz has a tremendous natural talent. Even his third generation puns are funny.

Aus: Nai re - James aur Shiva? merku paagal kutta kaata kya. He's making Sholay also nai? Paakala, mood, time irundhudna... we are choosy nowadays.

New person: you must've come here via The One, hein? from my recent attempts at portry? Thankee kindly.

Oh, but you see, when it comes to rhyme
Elusive it is, it does not come all the time

A few pearls there are, scattered here and there on this blog, but poet we are not.

Came here via the One, attracted by your rhyming!Good for you! as for remakes, I think if I do go and watch UJ, it'll be to see how big a hash(wink, wink) they've made of it!Yep, Ash and Abhi are thanda--hope they don't marry!
In two minds about Don.Might give in to the holiday mood and go watch it.

Lak: Hullo, hullo. Have met you chez The One, of course.

:-) hash is right. I'm quite looking forward to Don though - the old one first just to refresh memory and such and then the new.
